Default Please help!

I'm going to be buying a 95 ford ranger from a good friend. He lost the title and applied for a duplicate and should be sending it my way soon. My question to you guys is, he lives out of state now but his vehicle is in my state where he originally bought and purchased it. How do I go about getting the title in my name. I know plenty if notaries who can get it notarized after he signs and mails the title to me? Someone please educate me on this my friends!

(just a commuter the 7.8mpg is killer)

If he signs the title and sends it to you, you should be able to take that to your dmv office and get it transferred without a problem. State of residence should not matter on him.

What Pain said...you have the registration also right ?? a bill of sales would not hurt either.

if you want a notorized bill of sale though (not needed but nice to have) both partys have to be present at the time of signing at the notories office. just when he gets the title he needs to sign it over to you before he sends it to you, otherwise u will need to send it back to him.
