Ok so I've searched google and the search function and I'm unsure of what keywords to use to findout about this part but I have a few questions. Is this supposed to have a rubber boot inside? Where can I purchase a new one!

Is this the linkage to the tranny we are seeing?

 

Yes, inside the plastic piece it fits so in securely I was wondering if it was supposed to have something to actually hold it in place
