I like mine a lot. I wish it would have the full intergration to my iPhone. But it does do everything that I asked it to do. You can even play dvd's while driving. This can be used for kids in the back... You just have to get a wiring kit off of ebay or amazon.
Here is what I got from Crutchfield a year a go. Pioneer AVH-P4400BH DVD Receiver
Item #: 130P4400BH

I'm running the AVH-X5500BHS and is great for for a basic DVD Receiver but i wish i would have spent a couple hundred more on this one:

Dont bother with app radios. The x5600bhs does exactly the same thin but you do got spend more for the appradio mode adaptera. Researched up and down about this.
I have the x8500bhs. 2013 model replaced by the x5600bhs. The 5600 was out at the time but the 8500 actually had couple more features. Like 2 usb instead of 1 iirc. The 5600bhs may have it, but I could not find any mention of rear seat entertainment. A feature that lets rear video play out the rear speakers while front passengers can listen to whateber they want out the front speakers. I thought that was cool amd with a kid on the way, felt it work getting a replaced model.
If you REALLY can spring it. The NEX line looks awesome but thr base mode 4000 starts at $600. The only radio in the NEX line that isnt a gps unit out of the box but all the other features are there. They have the same touch screen tech and work just like smart phones. Moving stuff around the screen where you like.
Heres a post I had about this a bit ago. I cant rememeber what the differnece was between the 5500bhs and 5600bhs. There is something though.
Note. There probably is other features to note but this will be the most upfront stuff you notice. Will probably be gaining and losing things like mixtrax, app radio mode, preamp outputs, etc etc
---------------------
AVH-X1600DVD @ $300 6.1" Screen No bluetooth
AVH-X2600BT @ $350 6.1" Gain Bluetooth here and every model above it
AVH-X3600BHS @ $400 6.1" and has HD Radio/SiriusXM
AVH-X4600BT @ $450 7" Screen without HD radio/SiriusXM
AVH-X5600BHS @ $500 7" with HD radio/SiriusXM
All of them have Mirror link capability with the $100 adapter. I guess they also allow Iphone control over bluetooth now also. Mirrorlink works with android and iphone.
AppRadio DA210 3 @ $500 7" screen.
The Appradio over the 5600BHS:
-Loose 1 set of preamp outputs (Front and Rear only. No subwoofer output) and they are only 2 volt instead of 4 volt.
-5 EQ bands vs 8 EQ bands (to set how you want the sound to, well, sound)
-No AUX/3.5mm AV input
-No sat radio
-no wireless remote
-White color buttons vs Variable

I have the Pioneer AVH 200bt bought from eBay, blue tooth phone works great, sound is awesome and it has App Mode. However, I can never get app mode to work? I thought I would be able have Nav display on the screen from my Iphone but no idea, also don't know how to get it to stream videos from my phone in bluetooth mode.
Maybe I should have opted for a higher end model. I only paid $150 used so can't really complain. The back up camera is pretty nice.
