I have never taken mine off for those trips to the dealership and have never had an issue.

I guess I am OK evidently there is a KIT that has the sleeve removed and is a a true 3.5" I.D. Although the 16418-0 kit says 3.5" it has an internal sleevethat reduces it down to 3" So I am good to got I shouldn't have any DTC's ......Part # 16418-NS is the true 3.5" kit.

Gentleman

I have a 02 Supercrew with extended warranty (that has just expired) and I have had the K&N 770 CAI for sometime and have had the truck in for service with no issues. While the original position was "it will void the warranty" meaning bumper to bumper, it was toned down to if warranty item fails as a result of the installation, which I never had a problem with. This along with a thottle body spacer and Magnaflow Cat back, my truck (a 4.6 3:55 LS) truck performs well and pulls a 6,000 Lb tailer comfortably on the flats, with some work. I note a hill in the local area is about 2 miles long and about 3 -4 % grade, and I can crest that at about 50 mph (with space left on the pedal) . Looking at putting in a performance MAF and electric fans in the spring

I love my Airaid CAI. It sounds good when I step on the gas.
