Default PCM

08 F150 5.4l 140,000 on it just died will driving and displayed a list of codes. I had it worked on and they replaced 5,6 coils to include plugs. They had to replace PCM fuse twice when they found a shorted #5 coil wire. My A/C clutch will not engage now and it still runs like a tractor. I suspect the short caused a short in the PCM. I know the model has had several problems with the PCM but this is the first time its acted like this. I suspect the replacement/repair of the PCM is in my furtue. Anyone else have this problem?

I would advise to find a qualified tech to diag your truck. It may just need new COP and harness,
If PCM needs replacement, it is going to require a dealer to flash the replacement for PATS and cluster. It takes a bit to kill a PCM, do you have any codes/pics? Have you checked the harnesses to ensure there are no dead shorts?

This. Diagnose before you throw parts at it. You need a good scan tool to ensure connectivity to the PCM and all PIDS.
IF you do need a new PCM, check this out before you spend on a dealer reman.
