I just busted the passenger-side mirror on my 07 extended cab Lariat and have been searching around for a replacement assembly. The problem is that there seem to be a ton of part numbers that match, but few are exact.

For example, sites that reference my VIN display a part number of 17682. I removed the mirror assembly and found the full number is 7L34-17682-GD5SM3. A search for just 17682 works great, but a search on the full series returns little.

My question is, which sections of the part number are required or specific enough to find a compatible mirror?

 

Just the 17682. If you need the whole mirror, just google that, "200x driver/passenger mirror".
