Default Parasitic loads

I've had my 2008 Lariat 2WD SuperCrew w/premium audio for perhaps 7 years, bought from our son who bought it 2 years old.

Some 6 months ago, after 3 or 4 days unused in my garage, the battery was dead. The only thing I had attached was a 2 port cigar outlet and 2 USB adapter which had nothing plugged in, just the LED. I've used this "extension cord" for 5+ years and never had it be a problem.

I charged the battery and all was well. Last week, I turned the ignition off and opened the door. I had the radio on, and it continued. Ignition on/off, door close/open and it stopped. OK, the accessory power relay didn't drop out. Other than a sticking relay, what would do that?

TIA, George

Have you had the battery tested? What were the results? This may be just a dying battery issue.

Some batteries have stickers on them that indicate the month and year of when it was manufactured. If the battery is three years old, get test tested as Jimboy mentioned. If it's four years old or more, you'll want to consider replacing it.

That was the question. New battery in January, problem occurred about March, no problems since. HOWEVER, last week, I turned the key off, opened the door,, and accessory power didn't drop.

How in the world can you suggest the battery in this case?

Does door switch work properly ? Does dome light come on off properly if set to do so when door opens?

edit: DOME light (not SOME light)
