Palm beach county
Anyone knows of a garage that would install leveling kit in palm beach county? 4wheel parts wants to charge me $800 for 3 inch level with 1 inch rear. ! Is that reasonable or outrageous?
I live in AZ otherwise I'd be right over to help. It is VERY easy, with the right tools. That $800 sounds very, VERY ridiculous. There are many threads and a few videos on how to do it. An alignment afterwords is very necessary also. Call around and see other quotes you can get. Good luck.
He's asking about a 3" front, 1" back, which is a totally different ball game than a spacer on the struts.
If you're just installing a spacer up front, it's easy with basic hand tools. You just have to get it aligned after. But stick to 2.5" level or else you start to wear down suspension components a little too fast.
If you want an actual lift, go with at least a 4". I'd go 6" if you are going to all the work though.

Just to clarify...are you talking about a strut spacer in the front? And an add a leaf or block in the rear? The strut spacer is pretty easy. So is the add a leaf. I actually had the 3" spacer in the front and didn't like the angle of the tie rods(2wd). I bought the spacer(motofab) on eBay for around $50 shipped. After a few months I went down to a 2.5" motofab from the same eBay vendor. $45 shipped. I think the tools I had to purchase cost around $50(1/2 drive ratchet, deep well sockets, crescent wrench). I just read a "how to" here on the forum about the leaf spring and that seems pretty simple. A block would be very simple also. It took me roughly 2 1/2 hours to complete both sides of the front level. The alignment cost me $60 at a local shop. I think $800 is ridiculous if this is similar to what you're planning on doing.

Find a buddy with some tools. It's not a difficult install, as mentioned, there are videos, instructions included, etc. If you want a 3 inch kit, unless you're brand loyal, HBS makes great kits; I have their 2.5 for over a year and it's been great. Also, unless rates are different in your area, which is possible, $150 for an alignment seems pretty high too. I would recommend, if you don't want to do it yourself, call around to a couple different shops. If it's your only/last option, then good luck!
