Default Paint finish help

My fx4 is black, and after 6 years its not as shiny as it used to be and little scratches here and there are starting to become visible. If someone could tell me what i can do to get the shine back and remove the scratches that would be great!

If you have a buffer use it. First polishing compound then wax.

If no buffer, hand polish, then a good carnuba wax.

The only way is to have a pro buff it. Or wetland and buff if its real bad. Be very careful who you let buff on black it can ruin your paint job with swirls, more scratches.......

Black is a tuff color. Just make sure that the person that does it can guarantee to get the swirl marks out. If he can't your truck is going to look bad in direct sunlight. I would not reccomend a DIY on black for your first time buffing.

If the paint is that bad, then clay bar it first. Then apply a sealer to "fill in" the swirls and scratches. Then carnuba paste wax. Using orbital polishers will produce the best finish with the above process.

Good wash 2 bucket wash, then meguiar's ultimate compound, then meguiar's carnauba wax...you could also clay before the compound and wax if your paint is feeling really rough

Don't use a crappy buffer you can get from Pep Boys. You will need a decent dual-action polisher and assorted polishing pads. It's really not that hard to DIY. I suggest you read "The Art of Detailing" by Mike Phillips you want to learn how to do it right.
