Does anyone know exactly a PO642 code is, and how to fix it?

I just googled the code so that's why I said check the gas cap but normally If you google year, make model and code then it should help figure out what your problem is

Just had that fixed it was a short in wiring. Check engine light on?

no CEL. where abouts was your short, my problem only happens when its cold after I run it and get it hot it runs fine, but when I first start it the fuel pressure is all over the place and low idle. I am thinking of checking the cylinder head temp. sensor
