Howdy,

I have a 2007 F-150 STX and the other day my engine light came on. I took it to Autozone to get an engine code and it was P0602. I found out that this means that it could be a control module programming error and that the probable cause is:

ECM failure
Wrong ECM for vehicle
Service program error

I don't know how to fix this. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

P0602 - Control Module Programming Error This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) indicates programming error within Vehicle ID block (VID). VID data corrupted by the scan tool during VID reprogramming
Using the scan tool, reprogram the VID block. If PCM does not allow reprogramming of the VID block, reflashing PCM will be required.
