Default Overflowing Gas Tank

I stopped at the gas station this afternoon to fill up the F150. I had the handle lock on and let it flow until full. I heard the release click, pulled the nozzle out of the tank and put it back. I turn around to replace the gas cap and I see what had to be several ounces of gasoline overflowing down the side of my truck. It eventually leveled out and drained back into the tank (kind of like when too much liquid is poured into a funnel too quickly).

I've filled up like this a million times and mostly at this station by my house and never had a problem before. The only recent change to my truck was the leveling kit I put in over the weekend. Could that possibly be the problem? Or is this some problem with the gas pump itself? Something else?

It happened too me once several years ago.

Probably an issue with the release on the pump.

That makes sense. Hopefully I won't have any problems next time.

Thanks.
