Default Overfill the read diff....

I got a new diff cover today and changed out my rear diff fluid with Royal Purple. Is it bad if I overfilled the rear diff? I put may be an extra half a quart in..... please advise..

Thanks

How do you know you overfilled it? Does your new cover have a fill hole?

yeah its got a fill, drain and level hole. BUT I didn't want to let out the level plug and check it.... I had already cleaned up all my drain bucket and thrown it away and now I don't want to make a mess in my parking lot (getting the neighbors pissed)... I just need to know if overfilling will cause damage.

Nope, it's fine. It isn't under pressure so no worries.
