To remove the button it's super simple. Lift-up and remove the trim, you'll notice the button is attached to a simple connector that comes out of the front of the dash. Unplug the connection, remove the button. Easy as pie.

Source: I had to install the OD button on my truck as the previous owner broke it and took it out.

The connector is the one that is literally right under the od button that has two grey clips and a black clip in the middle right?

Yes it is the one that is right under the button. Unclip it and the button pops out. Extremely simple to do.
