Default overdrive button mod?

Is it possible to mod the overdrive button or transmission so that my transmission stays in drive until I push the button to turn overdrive on, instead of the factory setting of overdrive always being on and pushing the button to turn the overdrive off.
I have an 06 w/t 4R70E column shift 2WD.

I think you want OD off when you start your truck? You kind of said it both ways.

correct it stays on all the time unless I push the button and then it turns off til you turn the vehicle off. once started again it automatically goes back to the over drive being on.
i would like to reverse the process...

its on all the time from the factory. you have to hit the button to turn it off and it only last until you turn the vehicle off then it reverts back to over drive on all the time...
