Default Overdrive blown??

Hey Guys,

I got a 2004 F150 with 94k miles on it, most of it highway. I drove it 40 miles home tonight when I got in the city and stopped at the light. I took off again when it went to shift to OD and the engine just rev's with no power to the wheels. Now I let it rev down to push OD button off and I got power back to the wheels. I then tired to put it back in OD and rev'd again. I do believe that OD is blown, but there really was no warning. I haven't hauled heavy loads or towed anything in OD. What are you guy's thoughts? I'll probably call the dealership in morning and see if it is still under warrenty or what.

Check the fluid. It was not low on fluid. Talked to the guys at autozone. Gave em a bottle of Lucas Transmission stuff for hard shifts and leaks. Didn't do the trick. They said it could be the overdrive solenoid. I check some other forums and they seem to say the same. I am going to drop the pan tomorrow morning and see what the fluid looks like and if there is any junk in it.

Since it happened so sudden with no warning I would say it was a solenoid.
