Default Over heating

2006 F150 king ranch is over heating at idle with the heater on high. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? He said his edge started flashing red when this happened? Any suggestions where to start looking?

Well the Edge has built in "alarms" when certain parameters (temps, speeds, etc..) that will flash and beep if exceeded. Could be your thermostat? Could even be the temp sensor reading incorrectly? You might want to try and isolate the issue more. But, that's where I'd start.
