Ok so I'm thinking of ordering new phasers and timing kit, looks like 400 bucks. Then finding a shop that has done these on f150s before and pay them labor to install. I figure it shouldn't be more than 1500 total to have it done. But, anyone want to weigh in on how my truck sounds on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being don't drive it anymore and 1 being not bad enough to worry about.

Of course my preference is to put it off but I also don't want a blown motor. I have replaced in the last week:
Spark plugs
COPS
Fuel filter
Air filter
FPDM
Both vct solenoids

None of these things have made a lick of difference in how the truck sounded or ran when I bought it last week. It has 107k miles and counting....

 

While you are at it I would suggest headers, CATS and exhaust.

 

Right now I'm just concerned about the motor. I have no check engine lights or drive ability issues other than a very slight miss at idle that I think is being caused by cam phaser...
