I'm looking at getting a programmer for my truck. Its a 04 with 4.6 and 4x4. And after doing some research I'm kind of confused as to which programer I should get. I've been looking at the Edge Evolution CTS, Edge Insight CTS and the Gryphon version of each. But I don't know what the difference is between the Evolution and Insight. Plus from what I understand the Gryphon is the exact same as the factory Edge unless you buy extra programs. Can someone help me out because now everything is as clear as mud lol.

 

The gryphon from php allows you to get a custom tune specific to your truck and mods and really wakes up your truck. My 04 fx4 super crew with 33's now runs a 14.9 1/4 mile and a 7.4 0-60 time. And gets 17-18 highway driving doing about 70 or so with a lead foot haha

 

I believe one is a CS=color screen and 1 is a CTS=color touch screen, both can be converted to Gryphons add a couple hundred for the conversion and custom tunes

 

I know the CS is color screen and the CTS is color touch screen. I want a CTS but I don't know which one is the one I should get or what the real difference is between them other than the big price jump from the Insight to the Evolution. But the Gryphon seems to be about the same price unless I get some extra custom tunes with it.

 

Why would you pay to get it converted to a Gryphon if you were not going with custom tunes...

 

how much of a difference is there between the stock evolution and the gryphon? is there any difference? I looked on Edge's website and its $662.62 for the Edge Evolution CTS, and on the PHP website it's only $589 for the Gryphon CTS.

 

get the gryphon with custom tunes unless your truck is all stock then the edge would be ok. and the insight is only the gauges there is no tuning ability.
