Don't get me wrong as I like the Toyo Open Country 285/50r22's but what good are they if I don't have any kind of warranty or gaurantee on them?
The Nittos look awesome! I would go with them just to stay away from problems down the road...just in case.

Not with Nitto...the only serious problem I ever had is with Toyo....will never buy Toyo again...I think most companies in this economy would do anything to keep loyal customers...I have heard great things about Nitto....you are right...customer service has a new meaning now and can make or break a company. If I had to do it all over again I would go with Nitto.

I have never had a problem with Nitto..the Nitto dealers and the Nitto Tire company so far are on the same page.
But Nitto and Toyo formed a comprehensive business partnership in 1979. Then in 1999 Nitto Tire of North American was established.
I have several acquaintances that have had an issue with the set of Nittos they bought and Nitto treated them professionally and a solution was provided quickly. Toyo has failed in the customer relations and seems to be more of a "who you talk to that cares enough to help you" company. But it has not been common to have any problems at all with either Nitto and Toyo.
I don't know how Nitto and Toyo interact but they do have the same address in Cypress, California. But they do have differences in the the way they work with customers.
Toyo is the only one in the group that has the "No Regret". Toyo also has a phone number to contact customer reps. Nitto does not have any type of the "No Regret" guarantee and to contact a customer service rep you have to send in an e-mail contact form.
While Toyo has a more direct approach in connecting with customers by giving actual phone numbers to real people to contact. It might have been the "luck of the draw" that I had a Toyo Manager call me from California who was too busy to care or had little experience in dealing with customers.
Based on experience from friends (who had very small issues that were settled with Nitto locally with the dealer) Nitto would be the company I would do business with now.
I know this reply is long but it is an example of all I learned while I was trying to to get my tire issue resolved quickly. It took over a month and too much of my time. I still had to use the website to get proper inflation info, rotation and warranty issue as I did not get any information about my tires after purchase.
Toyo's "No Regret Guarantee" means nothing and is a selling tool. I hope this helps in your decision.
