I would if possible man, they're known for going bad and causing several issues. Just go all the way if you can

This is actually a great question. I have read where others have upgraded to a "high flow" oil pump, but I have never seen a part number and brand given. Hope someone with some more knowledge chimes in.

The original pumps are not failing. The screen on the pick up is the issue. The holes get plugged with carbon/dirt and decrease the volume. Clean the pick up and inspect the pump. Most likely all will be good.
If you can find a high volume pump, that would be worthwhile but as Summers stated, the high flow pump may not exist or be readily available.

I appreciate it. I planned on cleaning up the pickup tube anyway because there are probably plastic timing guide pieces on it. I never did see the reason for replacing the oil pump because to my understanding, its mechanical and failures are rare.

When I was still in the parts game 2 years ago, I spent some time on the phone with Sealed Power (Federal Mogul) whatever you wanna call em... We had a customer doing a head job on a 3V and wanted a high volume pump. They didn't offer a "high volume" pump at the time so the customer settled for the OE replacement. That's not to say they don't make one now, but at that time they didn't. They're also only one vendor. I'm sure somebody has got around to making one by now, but I haven't done anymore research since then.

I also haven't heard much failure on the oil pump... As mentioned above it mostly is issues with clogged screens.

I wonder if we could all benefit from a pan drop every so often and clean the screens or would that be pointless?

I just did my timing chain, chain guides, and tensioners. While I had it taken that far down, I replaced my oil pump with the ford racing high flow/high pressure one. It also comes with a new pick up. I'm right at about 30psi at idle once the truck is fully warm.

If you've performed oil changes using quality filters such as motorcraft, along with good oil, I see no reason to drop the oil pan to inspect or clean the pickup screen. There's always a chance that you'll not get the pan gasket cleaned or sealed properly upon install, and develop a leak.
