Default oil change

Just changed my oil & filter on my 2008 FX4 5.4L. The oil filter is on the front driver side of the motor. I put 7 qts in and it barley shows on the dip stick WTF? I have read that 6.5 qts should read half way between the two dots on the dip stick. Am I missing something?

7 qts should suffice. did you started the engine already? its your dipstick complete? (i.e, does it have the low and full part at the bottom of it?)

Yea I started it and I have good oil psi. Not sure what you mean about the dip stick. It seams to be complete. I have changed oil on many a vehicle 100+ but I never ran into this??

Did you check the oil and not the transmission dip stick?

did you check it on good level ground? When I do mine and put in what the manual says to put in it's not quite to the full mark. Mine is a 2007 5.4 though.

The oils co's figured out another way to bend us over. There isn't a full quart of oil anymore, it's 9/10!
