Offset wheels
With a 6" lift, most manufacturers will tell you that you need a wheel with a 4.5" backspacing. On a 9" wide wheel, that is a -12mm offset. This will stick out about 1.5"-2" from the fenders. Some kits will allow a 5" backspacing and I know for a fact that the BDS kits will allow a 5.5" backspacing on a 9" wheel which is a +12mm offset. It really depends on what tires will be used also.
This is when I put on a 6" BDS lift with 295/65/20 (35.1x11.6) Nitto Trails and 20x9 5.5" BS (+12mm offset) wheels. There was absolutely no issues with rubbing or anything like that.

^ This is with the same wheels/tires but with aftermarket fender flares. They added around 2" of coverage which made the tires tuck up in the truck.
Ill get you a picture of what my truck looks like now with 4.5" BS wheels with 37's and 8" of lift for a comparison. I dont have any current ones on my computer so Ill use my phone.
So to answer your question, it is going to be difficult to get the "flush" look when adding a 6" lift. The manufacturers want the wheels away from their knuckles so they require a 4.5" BS wheel. Like I said, some kits you can get away with other sizes but a lot of people dont because they dont know what works. If you get a set of aftermarket fender flares, you can easily get the "flush" look no problem. A 5.5" BS (9" wide wheel) or +12mm would be the highest I would comfortably go. You can use this on BDS and Rough Country kits without issues. Other kits I cannot vouch for.
