Default offset on FX4 too high for 35s?

Well me and a buddy installed my leveling kit today (which wasn't too bad btw). and I had a set of 35x12.50r18 mud tires waiting for me over at Discount Tire.

once we were done with the install, went to get the tires put on, and ..they didn't fit. rubbing the hell out of the upper A arm. I was pretty bummed about this, especially since on my '05 XLT I had a couple years ago 35s fit with the stock wheels. with absolutely zero rubbing issues.

felt pretty dumb considering a couple of days ago I assured the guy they would fit. he tells me it's because of the +52 offset or whatever these stock FX4 wheels have.

I'm not a huge fan of the aftermarket wheel options for our trucks, but it looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet. I was just wondering if any other FX4 owners have dealt with this issue and what your solution was.

You could always go with spacers.

anybody know if a 35s wrapping a 17x8 wheel will fit with a +25 offset and 5.5 inches of backspacing?
