Default Off road package

When I was looking at new trucks I wanted 4x4 off road package. I found a used 07 4x4 that does not have the package. What does the package add to the truck? From what I remember it was shocks, skid plate and ls differential.

I would like to upgrade this with the shocks, skid plates and rear end. What would this cost? Ideas and recommendations?

If you're going to upgrade to an off road package you can do a lot more than this with not too much money. I'd guess the differential work would be the most expensive. You have a huge selection of suitable shocks to use. I'd say buy some heavy gage sheet steel and make your own skid pans. It'll be a lot cheaper. Probably the best additional suggestion I can make is get some do it yourself bedliner like the herculiner and put a few coats on the bottoms of your rocker panels, wheel well lips and under your bumpers. Even skid pans if you want. I dont know how intensely you plan on off roading but bedliner-ing your wheel well lips will save you headaches down the road from pebbles and road junk along with all that water.
