Unhappy Odd transmission issue, 2004, 4R75W

I have a 2004 F150, SC, 4WD with the 5.4 and 4r75W. I have a transmission issue that the dealer cannot foigure out and I won't give them the go ahead to go on a fishing expedition; they already changed a power streering pressure switch for 200.00 hoping it would fix the transmission. Here is the problem;

If I come to an intersection and either slow way down; below 5MPH, or stop, and turn right, the transmission disengages (acts like it goes to nuetral). The engine will also stop reving and drop in RPM until the transmission locks up again. It does not do it when straight or turning left. It will also not do it if I shift manually; pull it down to first or second. The truck has 96,000 miles and the transmission was service at 70k. The pan an filter were good. The fluid looks good and doesn't smell burnt.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Nope; only turning right. Not straight and not left.

Thanks!

How would a power steering pressure switch fix that?
Has anyone checked the rear end? I have no idea, but turn off the od and try it in automatic and see if it still does it!
And it doesn't do it when you manually shift it?
When you manually shift the od shuts off automatically (of course).

Yes; does it with the OD off. Dealer replaced the pressure switch for the power steering because it was bad and they said it would fix it (why I hate dealers). If it were the rear end it would do it when I went to manual mode (held in first or second).

the pressure switch on the power steering pump senses when pressure is exerted on the pump from steering, at low rpm's helps the computer keep the engine running with that extra strain from the pump. I don't know what the dealer was thinking when they thought this would fix the trans problem, but I could see how they thought it would fix the engine rpm drop and non-revving problem when you're turning the wheel

I wonder if the shift cable is not routed correctly. If there is not enough slack it could be putting you into neutral when the truck leans just right. Shifting down to first or second would prevent that but deselecting OD would not. Just a thought.

Default figured it out

I pulled the pan last night and hoped there wouldn't be any big transmission parts laying in the pan; well, I was and wasn't so lucky. There was a big part in the pan; filter had fallen off. The pump intake is on the right side, so when turning right, it would lose it's prime because the fluid went to the left side. I am not sure why it came off; it matched the filter that I got from the dealer. At least I will know what it is if it ever happens again.

Thanks!
