Default NOT A REAR SEAT BACK rear seat removing question

Hi again.

There are lots of excellent write-ups on removing the rear seat back by members. Excellent stuff! Thank you.

My question is, do you need to remove the back rest to remove the seats themselves, as in could I undo the Torx bolts and then slide them out of some kind of carrier?

Thanks in advance, all my searches are just turning up the rear seat back catch question.

The seat bottom parts are bolted in so yes you have to unbolt them from the floor.

Oh, you just want to replace the foam and cover? That I dont know. Usually there's either a zipper and or hog rings you have to undo to remove upholstery. The seats don't just come out easily though.

To remove the bottom cushions you need to remove the two large torx bolts on the bottom, and the two small torx on the side brackets. The rear one is a tight fit and a regular socket will not fit as there is not enough clearence. A six point 1/4" wrench and torx bit is what you will need.

That did the trick. I also removed the inside floor bolt on the short side and it gave me a little more wiggle room.
