Default noise in drivetrain please help

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to this forum and a big Ford fan. I own a 2008 F150 with a 4.2 litre, 5 speed manual, half cab, 8 foot box 2 wheel drive. The truck has 24000 miles on it. I noticed a humming noise coming from the drive train. I've taken it to the Ford dealership and they replaced the drive shaft thinking the steady bearing was getting bad. They also noticed that a leak was coming out of the rearend cover and they fixed that. I still hear the humming noise and depending where you are sitting in the truck when you're driving it sounds like it's coming from the front (like the sound of a wheel bearing but they were checked and are fine) but sitting in the passengers seat it sounds like it's coming from the rear. It seems to get louder and you hear it the best between 45-50mph. My tires seem fine, I've rotated them but still get the same sound. Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced this kind of thing before? Thanks so much for any help.

Mine sounds a bit like it is going over rumble strips. So far they have replaced the entire driveshaft, rear wheel bearings and a few other things...Sound is exactly the same as before they started.

Now they are saying it is the transmission. It makes no noise when up on a lift so they are putting some sort of mic on the tranny and while wearing headphones will take it out for a ride. So far shop costs are almost $2,000 and it still isn't right .

Mine is a 2wd and you can read about it here: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/2004-2w...ar-end-176543/

Default drivetrain noise

Thanks. sounds like you have the same kind of problem as me.one thing i am going to try is to put my factory rims back on the truck. i changed the factory steel rims over to factory alloy's just to rule out rims and tires. i still have factory powertrain warranty(thank god!) so if the noise is still there after changing over the rims the ford dealership will be looking alot harder at the problem.just a quick note isn't it crazy that you have to replace the whole driveshaft to fix a steady bearing or even the u joints they are none replacable. Thanks so much for your time 80/20 P.S please excuse my typing.
