Sounds like a possible wheel bearing. Jack up the front end till the tire is off the ground, grab the tire at 6 and 12 o clock and see if you can wobble the tire?

NOISE DID NOT GO AWAY

Makes me think its not the 4WD

When you put it in 4WD does the 4x4 light in the dash come on?

YES

Likely not the solenoid then

Have you checked to see if the check valves in the vacuum lines are working properly?

YES

Should hold a vacuum through the lines then, possible the IWE does not hold a vacuum. Will need a gauge to check and make sure there isn't any bleed off at the IWE after a vacuum has been applied.

This may seem a little crazy but I had my son back down the driveway while I watched the front axles. With the 4 wheel drive off. The axles did not spin. I then drove around the block with the 4 wheel drive on and I could tell that the 4 wheel drive was engaged. I turned 4 wheel drive off and the front axles did not spin.

I am starting to think that the problem is with the hub or the brake rotor is warped. It does not do it all the time. Just when bearing left at speed. At low speeds makes a scraping noise and at 45MPH or higher makes a high pithched squealing noise only when baring left.

Confused....

Thank you. If it stops raining I will give her a shot. I'm starting to think buying this truck was a bad idea. Should I do both hubs? Is Napa a good place to go for the hubs if needed? I do like PEP boys but not sure of the quality of parts there.

If it is a wheel bearing I cant help with much other than trying to diagnose weather its good or bad. Never had to go down that road yet. I think several people on here have gotten theirs off amazon. Like I said I cant personally tell you which ones are reliable. Someone on here does though.

Bought my hubs from amazon....They're not that hard to replace. The Haynes manual has a very good write up on procedure.

Found the problem. Pulled the LF tire off this morning and the brake dust shield was rubbing the inside of the rotor. Also checked remaining 3 dust shields and all are good. Wheel hubs, tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, all were tight. Changing the oil and adding a BG oil additive since the oil has not been changed in a while. Thank you all for you help. This is a great place for information.
