Here's a picture of the gauges.

So the answer to my one question sounds like there is no such thing as not having a trim package, correct? It has to be an XL, XLT, FX4, STX, or Lariat? Looking at some pictures on Edmunds, I do see the STX also has a badge that is plain, but both the STX and FX4 would have a sticker on the back quarter which I don't have.

So I think we can rule out the Lariat, because its not leather and doesn't have the white gauges, right?

And, I think we can rule out the FX4 because its got chrome bumpers and chrome around the wheel wells, right? Those don't seem to be options that would be on an FX4.

I think that both the XL and XLT are supposed to have that on the badge, right? But the STX is supposed to have sticker on the back quarter.

STX would have had painted bumpers, so scratch that one. Just googling on 2005 F150 SuperCab XLT, I am seeing only the rectangular fog lights. I am also seeing some others that don't appear to say XLT on the badge or sticker, but hard to see in some.

It's an xlt with Chrome aftermarket accessories.. xl/stx wouldn't have the tachometer or power options, fx4/lariat would have different gauge clusters

Yea I'm also certain that's a xlt with different badges. I know a couple of people that have had the black on their badges "peel" and ended up replacing them for lariat badges .

Also, like KingCatch said, Ford used rectangular fog light housing on the 04-05 and switched to round with the 06-08. Speaking of, not to hijack your thread, but does anyone know why they did this? They both are aesthetically pleasing to me, but as far functionality one can't be much better than the other. Although the rectangular housings are metal and the rounded housings are plastic. So if you wanted to upgrade your fogs you can put very powerful lights in the 04-05, but the plastic housings would melt in the 06-08. Hmm.. Just something I've been thinking about.

OK, I'm officially an idiot. (Never let it be said that I am not willing to admit it)

I just looked at a couple of other F150 FX4s in a parking lot on the way home that just say F150, and thought their badges looked different from what I remembered of mine. Just went back out and looked at my badges to take a picture and post for this discussion, and they say "XLT 5.4 Triton". I could have sworn I had looked at them and didn't see the XLT. I looked at a bunch of trucks when buying this one over the last few weeks, and must have been so excited I couldn't see straight. So mystery solved now that I actually looked at my badges. Its also odd that the dealer I bought it from didn't advertise it as an XLT.

Go ahead, the laughing can now commence.

I have a white 2005 Supercab, 5.4, 4X4. No chrome around wheels, just all white.

I ran the Vin on one of the sites here, and it said XLT?

Like you I, wondered, never saw XLT on anything?

Yours look much fancier than mine.

I have a manual rear window slider, cloth interior.
I am doing my rear diff now, the LS rear end chatters.

Then Front gear oil.

Spark plugs next.

Then Auto Trans pump out and filter.

When I did the Drivers side window regulator (45K Miles! Get Ready)
I saw a hole for a Tweeter I did not get? I got CD 6 disk, no Tweeters?

Try looking up your vin?

Not true 04 and 05s have rectangle fogs. And 06 up had round.
