Default No need for CAI

So recently i fiddled with my stock intake and pulled it out from where it plugs into the farring and did a somewhat of a 90 degree angle facing toward the front of the truck. there is a gap where the headlight is and pointed it down there....anyways hooked up my cortex superchip and monitored the inlet air temp and it has been sucking air in from the front (since that's where i aimed it) and the temp has been at most above outside temp by 10 degrees which is great. It also has easier access to air it sort of made it into ram air. Just a suggestion to those that don't want to spend the 150 on CAI you can turn your stock truck into half *** ram air CAI. Unless someone has input ******* this idea i'm all ears. anyone else do this?

I did a somewhat of a modified Gotts Mod, kinda the same concept with just modifying the stock tube, but basically you just make the inlet bigger, you can check it out in My Progression Thread. I'd be interested to see pics of what you've got going.

I don't really get it. Doesn't the intake in our trucks already pull from the fender well? I guess pointing it forward might force more air in....

I dont know where the air goes into the fender well can't see it imo the gender well is restricting the inlet. Pop your hood stand at our on the driver side wheel and look down at the driver side head light you can see the open space where I'm taking about it is way more open than the fender well.all you do is pull the tube from the fender turn it and point out down there. Its not exactly ram air but its the next best thing and gets fresh untouched air from where the vehicle is going

haha that makes a lot more sense, your still not getting as much ram air as you could due to the fact that your inlet is still so small, but i'm sure your intake temps are cooler...
