Default No gas cap

Allright well I was in a hurry at a gas station and just took off leaving my gas door open and my gas cap on the bed rail and the gas cap fell off when I pulled out and didn't notice until I drove home (45 min drive). My question is is it safe to drive without a gas cap?

I'll still be ordering one soon

It may be ghetto, but if I was you, I would stick a rag in there (not all the way in, obviously) until you get a new one.

From what I know I wouldnt... Mine broke and wouldnt tighten all the way and my check e light came on, but I went to autozone and got one for like $15. It throws off the pressure in your gas tank, so I wouldn't drive without it for too long

It evaporates and causes rough idles too.

I have a name for vehicles with a rag sticking out of the tank neck - "molitov cartail".
Just add an ignition source to the rag and run!
