Default No crank/start

Here's a fun question. I went to start my 2005 f150 5.4 v8 this morning and everything works lights, radio, a/c, heat, but no sound when I turn the key no cranking or clicking of any kind just silence. It's been pouring in CT all day so I checked everything else I could---it's not the fuses or relays, not the ignition switch, not the neutral switch with the shifter and I do not have an alarm just the stock lock/unlock key fob and no error codes when hooked up the reader. Maybe it is the starter? I have not crawled under the truck to look yet gonna wait till it stops raining. Has anyone else run into this problem where it was something stupid or some different kind of fix. Oh and I tried 2 different keys just incase. Going to have towed tomorrow to shop, but I figured I'd post here first. If anyone would know or have something crazy to try and fix it it'd be you guys. Any insight would be helpful thanks,
Rich

Starter connections, starter itself, or battery, or the battery connections, even corroded cables can happen. there's a few WAG's, lol.

Sounds like a PATS problem to me. Does the horn work? If so its unlikely to be a battery connection but it could still be something at the starter. Have you got a second key? Try it if you do.

I just typed a long response and it wouldn't let me post it, so here's the abridged version. It was just the starter died and needed a new one. If your starter dies Take it to a shop if you have the 5.4 engine cause it's almost impossible to do it with out a lift. FIN
