No Brakes!

Welllll....I hate to admit it, but I think I figured out my problem. I guess in my haste to get it back together before dark, I put the damn things on reversed. I went to rebleed them today, and as I laid down for the 3rd time to bleed them, a light bulb went off and I realized the bleeder valve was on the bottom of the front calipers I replaced. It's supposed to be at the top...duh stupid. I've done a million brake jobs over the years and this is the 1st time I've done this. Doesn't make me feel real smart, but oh well. Guess I get to swap em to the correct side in the morning when I get some daylight. No wonder I couldn't get the air out. I can't believe I didn't notice it as I was putting it back together, or the 2 times I bled them already...

Crap happens brother, I have changed a million brake pads and last week actually put a pair of pads on reversed, the pads pointed the right direction and fit but ended up binding and ruined the caliper on that side of the mustang. Taught me a lesson to slow down, especially when dealing with brakes.

You'd think since they sell them as different part numbers and the hoses are clearly labeled L & R, the calipers would be too. The only reason I even realized they were backwards was because I've changed them on a buddy's truck which is an '07 and remember the bleeder being at the top. They should make them only fit on the side they're supposed to. The fact that they bolt right up and operate perfectly (other than all the air goes to the top piston and can't be bled out) is kinda bad on an engineering perspective.

Glad you're back up and going

Repair complete...I switched 'em to the correct side. When I bled them, a huge amount of air came out of the front. Pedal came right back to normal. Best part of the whole deal...THE TRUCK STOPS WHEN I PUSH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL! Smooth as silk.

Stopping is good.
