Default Newer tpms on my 2007

I bought some 2013 wheels and tires and want to put them on my 2007 SCREW. I am pretty sure the tpms on the newer wheels won't sync up and activate the warning light in the dash. Besides being annoying, will there be any negative consequences to just letting it light up?
The local tire shop wants $100 to recalibrate.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the older gen the band style, and different frequency than the 2013 sensors? A shop can't magically reprogram that issue. If they are the same sensors, the shop should only charge 10 bucks. No issues having the light on your dash other than annoying you.

Why not swap the sensors from your old wheels to the new ones.. all you need is new bands.. leaving the TPMS light on won't hurt anything, but you will not pass a State inspection if you require one with it illuminated.

Thanks guys. I'm just being cheap. I didn't want to pay to unmount 8 tires and remount them and balance them to swap the tpms over. I guess I could just drive for for a year then swap the old wheels back prior to state inspection.

As noted the new ones won't work. If you do want to have working sensors, I'd recommend buying new ones as yours are now 10 years old and past their lifespan.

Default Brand new TPMS 12 9L3Z-1A189-A that cannot be trained

2012 F150 5.0 XLT
Changed the tyres with some nice black 275/60/20, the truck looks cool indeed, but I got the faulty TPMS warning message and light on, of course, as these tyres were equipped with some GMC 433Hz pressure sensors. Went to Ford garrage and they changed all four sensors, got some brand new TPMS 12 9L3Z-1A189-A installed. Then the training struggle begun. Sensor are responding to their training small devices but their readings are not processed by the TPMS unit. The unit is functional, they tried it on another truck and they also tried another unit on my truck but even the other unit was not processing the sensors readings. They came with the laptop, they did a lot of tests n resets but nothing.
Any ideas? Any experience with this?
Tx.

The dude at Discount Tire tells me they can mount stem-type TPMS sensors without having to completely dismount the tire (remove, deflate, press outside of tire in, remove old stem, insert new, pump up tire, put on truck, program). Sounds possible I guess. May be worth a shot. I only paid $40 per sensor for the VDO Redi Sensors.
