Thanks for the ad! Hopefully I can successfully navigate this forum to find answers to my problems on my '04 single cab FX4 5.4 3V. 120,000 miles and she has a nasty knock. I though it was the cam phasers at first but it has gotten much louder and the noise continues as the RPM's increase.

Well I removed the passenger side valve cover. A rocker is broken on the #1 cylinder. I guess the roller went bad. The cam is scarred as well. I purchased a new cam, cam phaser, VCT Solenoid and it's seal, and I went ahead and bought new lifters and rockers. That is all I'm doing for now. I'm eventually going to replace all of the same parts on the left side as well. I will pull the timing chain cover off and inspect all of the timing components. I might go ahead and purchase a new timing set with iron tensioners anyways. It won't hurt. I will be happy if I get another 100K miles out of this motor before something messes up again.
