Default New truck maybe

Well I am really ready to move on to a 4x4 and heavier towing, I have a 2008 f-150 2wd screw with 50k in immaculate condition. This f250 looks great and has 4x4. I heard the 2005's have the best reliablity (correct me if I'm wrong). It also has pretty low milage. I'm going to try to get about 20-23k out of my 08 f150 screw. It all has new BF goodrich all terrains with are about 1100 which will help add to the value. I also have a pic of my truck out at my farm after almost getting stuck... I have way too much land to not be able to navigate with 2wd..

proboly only gonna get about 17-18k for your truck and even less on trade in. most dealers will turn around and sell them for about 22k maybe 20k with that milage. the f250 looks in good shape. just be leary of the cylinder head bolts. check to see if they have ever been replaced.

Do your homework on the 6.0 diesel. They dont have the best track record until later years. The dieselstop.com is the Ford diesel forum.

One good thing, you maybe able to run non-tax diesel in your truck if it's considered a "farm vehicle".

Agreed. I believe pre-2003, and 2006 and up were the good years. I'm pretty sure they had issues with later 2003's thru 2005's. Just my two cents.

yea late 03 when the 6.0s came out, They SUCKED. the best ones with that bodystyle were the 99-early 03. try to get the 7.3L. my neighbor just bought a 99 350 with 260K miles and it runs great.

If you start looking at 7.3 which are a lot more reliable then the 6.0s, If you get a 99 make sure it was a build date after 3/21 I believe. If you need any advice feel free to pm me I just sold my 7.3 great truck just was looking to downsize

Price seems a little high to me. 22k out the door would take it for me. Have you considered buying from a private sellar and selling your truck out right? Although it is very convient to just trade in at a dealer but it costs you.

Had a 2004 F-250 Lariat with the 6.0. Best vehicle I ever had. It was more expensive to maintain but all diesels will be. 6.0 did have problems with the headbolts stretching. When you are looking at one be sure to get the ford vehicle report that shows any major issues the truck had. If its clean, I'd pull the trigger. However, if it has had issues with head bolts, or EGR or Oil cooler problems....RUN! IMO.

6.0s arent bad if you get one thats been taken care of. some say you just have to soot them out occasionally (WOT) to keep them clear, and if you arent worried about inspections, you can get an egr delete and be totally fine. the prob with those trucks is all the torque they have and still have an egr system.

but if you dont want to worry about it get a 7.3 xlt no frills and enjoy driving one of fords greatest creations.

why the move to a 3/4 ton? what if you just sold your 150 and got a 150 4x4 just like it. spend the extra money on exhaust, tuner, level, tires, window tint, aal, and change all the fluids. that would be what i would do unless i had to pull huge farm equipment. hell you can even get a locker for the rear and really cover some land.

if your primary thing is mudding and driving through woods, diesels are stupid heavy. ive been offroad with them and they sink, but thats my opinion. in my opinion id get a 150 like yours but 4x4, keep it supercrew so the weight dist. is better than an ext. cab, or if you really want a hoss of a truck get a 250 with a 5.4 litre v8. thats a sold truck there. the v10s arent that great, less hp than the 5.4 but more torque. not needed in my book.

unless you have to pull over 10 thousand pounds, id stick with a gas motor. maintaining a diesel is expensive as conquistador said. theres guys on here and f150online that use their trucks allot and they hold up great.
