Default New and need some advice

I have just purchased a 2008 F150 XLT super cab 5.4 with 48,000km on the clock. I have been reading about the dreaded spark plug problems and have been wondering if I should go ahead and change them to the one piece plugs now or wait until the recommended interval. The truck runs fine and I intend to keep it for many years. Any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks

You'll probably get two opinions on this, but I say why wait. Everyday more carbon builds up on them..

Seems like the new recommended replacement time is around 60K miles, or 96K km...

If it was mine and running fine I'd leave it. But I don't have a 5.4.

Well, you mention 2008, which was a transition year for the 5.4, so before you get bummed out, let's find out which 5.4 you have.

You will need to look at the spark plug boots to see if they are black or brown.

Left is brown, new style, right is black, old style. You can also check against the date code on the driver's side valve cover.
