Hello! I joined as a first owner of an F150. I do like the truck. I bought an 05 from my neighbor for $3000. 175,000 miles and clean. I replaced plugs, coils, tires and brakes. So far it runs good and I like it I was told these trucks are "disposable". I hope not. There seems to be a lot out on the road. I will need to do a timing set and phasers. Typical noise. Anyway, Hello and here I am. I'm a Ford man. I own an early Bronco, I've been driving a 78 Dodge Power Wagon for the last 20 years. I hope this F150 can replace it. Ya'll have a great day!

I know I have worn timing components at 175,000. But, would that cause the engine to die after coming off the highway and stopping? It restarts fine but will stall when hot and shifting into reverse. I assume timing components can cause this?

Not likely... that sounds more like an air, spark, or fuel delivery problem. Basically, ignition, somewhere.

But it runs perfectly normally. I've replaced spark plugs, coils and checked everything out. It's just weird that it will stall occasionally when hot after coming off the highway. I'm not sure were to look.

Well, this definitely isn't an introduction anymore. Moved to 2004-2008. You should get more help here.
