Default New here-Need some advice

Hello everyone, I drive a 2004 F150 FX4 with the 5.4 triton. Last year I started having some problems when in a parking lot or making a slow sharp turn--my trucks steering wheel would lock up and the check gauges light would come on, then I would turn it off and turn it back on and it would be fine...it took a 2 weeks spell of doing this . I found out my battery was bad and had it replaced, that was almost 10 months ago a d haven't had any problems until 3 weeks ago when it did it again...then it did it again yesterday while parking at my apartment. It almost feels like its only done it when it's hot outside and I can feel the truck almost shift oddly before it happens, PLEASE HELP with any info on what might be the problem!!

I'm no mechanic...and I drive a 2x4, but if I felt a problem with my steering the first thing I would check is my power steering fluid and system components. I live in the desert and batteries out here go fast like every year or two...so maybe that's your problem again. Good luck! Keep me posted on what you find.

That's what I would do. Start at the battery... have it checked, look at the belt,(check for cracks), maybe it's slipping, steering fluid, and spray the steering shaft universal joints with a good lubricant, more than just wd-40.
