New Headlights
Hey guys I'm looking to get some new headlights and I was wondering what were some good ones to get. I like the spyders, but I've herd mixed reviews and how the lens melts. My main concern is that I want both low and high beams to be HID. I don't have the money now for retro fits and I don't care for for their looks much.
You are pretty much limited to retrofits if you want HID and want a quality product.
If you do get the Spyders, make sure you get the CCFL version.
I was looking at the Spyders too but I think I am going to try a retrofit myself now after getting some advice from members here and reading this thread:

I found some OEM lights on ebay and I am going to get HIDs from http://www.theretrofitsource.com/
and Oracle plasma halos from http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...LEHaloKit.aspx

There is a cutoff shield that stays up for low beam:

And goes down for high beam:

So in this case, HID high beams can be extremely useful.
Yep. That's why once upon a time when hids came out, if you had a dual filiment bulb meaning it did highs and lows, then you would lise your high beams if a HID kit was just tossed in there.
I say once upon a time because sounds like that got a bulb now thats still one bulb, but it moves back and forth enough to get high beams. Havent researched that myself as I disagree its ever a good idea to use HID bulbs in reflectors.
To answer OP question, do a retrofit if you can save for it (tax time is coming). With that sais, even spyders will put down more light than factory halogen lights. It just wont be nearly as good as a retrofit. Also there really ae mixed reviews on them. Theres a whole thread on how many problems people are having amd a whole thread on how good they are.

Yeah that's what I like about retrofits, but I didn't know if there were any after marked lights that had the bi-xenon projectors.
