Default new guy cam question

So I have an aftermarket warranty for my truck. I've notice I have a ticking noise coming from the engine and from what I've read its probalby the cam phazers...? My question is to a knowledgeable person is a camshaft and teh cam bearings the same parts as the ever popular cam phazers? in other words my warranty states it covers the cam shaft and cam bearing and lifters would any of those being fixed take the ticking noise away?

A- No lifters in the 3v 5.4 engine, you have lash adjusters which yes will knock lightly at times.
B- A slight "tick" is considered normal, there are bulletins posted by other members who are Ford techs on here about it. If the phasers are bad, it will do more than tick. What causes it is the vct(variable camshaft timing) solenoids moving oil, as the phasers work via oil pressure. This is ALSO why oil changes on a regular basis with the PROPER oil are critical.
C- Congrats on the new ride, enjoy and welcome to the forum!

I was reading on the bob is the oil guy forums that there is a TSB for customers complaining about valve ticking to replace the oil with 10-40w. Not really relevant to the topic, but somewhat related.
