I just got a new edge evo. Is there any updates I should do. Do you plug it in to the computer often? I am just trying to figure out what is suppose to be done. I keep reading about updates. I am on level 2 right now until my fuel tank empties. It takes forever with a 35 gal tank. I am then going to put in supreme and level 3. Anything I should know? Thanks

 

If it's working good - DON'T MESS WITH IT. It's unlikely any of the updates will affect how your truck drives (tunes). They will only update the firmware in the Edge.

Couple of things to know.

1. Unless you know what you're doing, leave the transmission, timing, etc. settings alone.
2. Drive the truck for a few weeks before changing any of the custom settings.
3. Make sure your tire size and gear ratio are correct.
4. The MPG is not accurate (well, it's within 2-3 MPG).
5. DO NOT CHANGE FROM ONE TUNE TO ANOTHER (even stock) IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. You might get stuck.
6. Do not program with a weak battery. Do not program in extreme cold (35 or lower) or extreme heat (above 90).
7. Always tune your truck back to stock before taking it to the dealer. Give yourself enough time to reset the P1000 code (depends on how much your drive).
8. Turn off ALL electrical accessories before tuning.
9. Program Edge's tech support line in your cell phone (you never know).
10. Enjoy your new truck!
