New- CV Joint Question
I have a 2006 F150 2WD 4.6L was told i should replace th right CV joint cause it cake up with dirt and probably damaged. My husband am I are driving back to Texas tonight from Las Vegas, NV. How dangerous is it to wait ? And if needed what are the steps needed to replace it myself ?
If the truck is 2WD you do not have CV (constant velocity) joints up front. The CV joints are located on either end of the front half-shafts coming off the front differential that drive the front wheels on a 4WD model.
Who told you this needed to be done? Are you experiencing any symptoms (grinding, steering noises, etc)?
If the front end components are really caked with dirt or mud I'd spray em' down before a long trip just for good measure but it shouldn't cause any problems.

After looking at it its the CV Shaft not Joint. As for the symptoms feels
like riding on completely flat tire when turning left and its gonna fall off
on slightly feel that when acclerate from dead stop only.
