new 5.4 need help

Default new 5.4 need help

my dad, his friend, and i just put a new engine in my truck and it seriously runs awful. very rough idle to the point of stalling, constant misfires, no power, driving video here
. by the pond at around 1 minute in is 3/4 throttle and up the hill at 2:15 in is full throttle. idle video coming once youtube speeds up. it has pretty much every component new except the alternator and injectors. everything exhaust, coils, plugs, more then i can think of is new. it has 11 codes which are P0133 IAT sensor 1 ckt high, P0174 system too lean bank 2, P0300 random/multiple misfires detected, P0302 cylinder 2 misfire, P303 cylinder 3 misfire, P308 cylinder 8 misfire, P3016 misfire detected first 1000 revs, P2195 o2 sensor stuck lean 1/1, P2197 o2 sensor stuck lean 2/1, P1000 OBD systems redness test not complete, P2006 intake manifold runner stuck closed bank 1. any help would be greatly appreciated

here is the idle vid, i gave it a little gas at the end and it died. it also dies just idling sometimes

Could be an electrical problem, check for possible blown fuses. Ran into the same thing on an old 2 valve and a fuse was blown causing multiple misfires

Okay thanks for the advice I'll look tomorrow. I think I might have a vacuum leak but I have no idea where to check for that

With all the codes set, you have your reasons why it's running poorly. In any engine swap, connectors to the various sensors could be broke, unplugged, or contain broken wires.


Was this engine swap a 5.4 to 5.4, meaning you removed a 5.4, and installed another 5.4? If not, was the PCM/ECU and it's harness installed along with the swap?

Those are classic symptoms of malfunctioning VCT solenoids. Did you replace them?

It's a brand new engine so I guess yes, I replaced them
