Default Need some information

'04 Lariat 4wd with 148k miles. Have had zero problems with this truck. My question is, on average at what mileage points will I start experiencing mechanical/drivetrain problems? I am trying to decide weather or not to get a truck a little more updated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

There's really no set constant... just make sure you do your regular maint, lubing, and services as you should and hope for the best. There's people here that had to replace motors well under 100K and there's people with 300K+ who's never had any issues.

Ford programmed these truck to operate on a "surprise" system. Just maintain it as well as you can is all I can really say.

Since yours is a 2004, I would make sure to stay on top of the oil changes primarily. The 04 and 05's were really bad when it came to phaser issues. Nothing to worry about if you do early oil changes (3-5k miles intervals). Hopefully the spark plugs were changed already.
