Need some help
Morning all
Other day on my way to work, truck started missing and banging around. thought a rod was coming apart. Pulled into the gas station and the noise went away and the truck ran fine. But the "Tick" that we all have in our 5.4 was louder than normal. Went on to work, noise and poor performace came back. then it throw and engine light. Got the truck home, same issue on the way home. nosie would come and go, then the oil pressure started dropping to 0 then back up to normal. Engine had oil only about 3500 miles one last change. I run royal purple 5w-20. Plugged the code reader in and got P0010. So i changed out the VCT oil solenoids and changed the oil while i was at it. Started the truck sounded great! left it idle then it started knocking and tick bad. Oil pressure jumping around. I am lost at this point. Anyone have any suggestions. Im thinking the Cam phasers went, but i am not sure. Thanks for the help
