Need a new transmission
I have a 2005 5.4 V8 4x5 and the transmission has just went south.
Im looking into getting a reman trans and install it myself.
Do you have any recommendations of a good company to get the transmission from and that still allows the warranty to be valid even if i do the installation instead of taking it to a shop?

Removing the transmission and reinstalling is a minor part of the job . Some shops pay a separate mechanic to pull and install . Some shops allow owners to remove and install . it is very important to get a local shop with a very good reputation to upgrade and repair your transmission . Large chains should be avoided as they will aggravate you and cause repeated returns unnecessarily .
