you have the 4.6! I would consider that a huge win, because it’s typically a super reliable engine (but less power than 5.4).

There is a lot you could do there, but I would start off with basics: check fluid levels, clean out air box and its filter (coolant bottle looks like coolant system is very neglected, but for now just make sure level is ok)

then I’d focus solely on misfires initially. Suggest using existing parts initially.

Remove coils from misfire cylinders and swap them with others from non misfiring cylinders (label them and take notes). Clear codes and test drive. See if codes follow swap or stay. Post back with results.

find forstechmakeuloco on YouTube, find his throttle body cleaning video.

edit: and find id DIY coolant flush vodeo

Also for initial list: read up on. FPDM, then inspect yours, if at all in question replace now OR buy spare and keep in truck. ($40-50 on rockauto).

don’t pressure wash, but you can use a hose. YouTube has lots of engine wash videos. avoid coils / plug wells and pcm.

I agree with washing it eventually, but I would wait until you sort misfires. Especially if you’ve never washed engine bay. Id do it later right before you eventually decide to change out all the boots/springs and/or plug wellls.

ok thanks I changed both coils in the cylinders that were misfiring and cleared the codes. Drove about 10 miles or do and seems to be running better and check engine light hasent come back and no more codes.
