Default Need Helpppp!!!

Ok so few months back I did a new piņon seal and diff seal w/fresh oil. Now just last week my axle seal took a **** and started throwing gear oil & bearing grease all inside my brand new rim n tire. So now I need to know what size of ring gear I have so I can get the correct bearing n seals.

I have a 2004 F-150 Lariat 5.4 v8. The axle tab is the B6 with the LSD. What size of ring gear do I have?

B6 is 3.73 rear end. That's all I can tell you

I'm pretty sure yours is the 9.75" Ring Gear.

yea...and check your diff vent to make sure it's not blocked up...

Should have your ratio marked on the inside of your drivers side door jam.

Yes, all 5.4's that year are 9.75" axles, and b6 is a limited slip 3.73.


Also, +1 on the axle vent tube. the axles build heat and pressure, and if it can't get out of the tube, it'll get out somewhere else.

i'm pretty confident like others have posted that the 5.4l's all came with 9.75's but you can count the bolts on the diff cover to be sure... 10 bolts mean 8.8 12 means 9.75 also the 8.8 looks rounder where the 9.75 looks more like a D
